MICROSCOPES
Something seems not working (screen, computer, lasers, mercury lamp, XY-stage, microscope controller, etc...).
=> Verify that you've switched on each of the needed devices, and in the right order.
I don't have image on the ocular and/or on the screen...
=> Is there any light coming from the objective on your sample? If not, verify if light or laser is on and if the shutter open. If yes, is the light path free to go to ocular or camera? Just check it.
Where can I store my data?
=> The best and safest is in your group's server. They can also be stored 3 months maximum on our BIOp server (svfas4/biop/"your professor group") and are safe only 3 days on the microscope's hard drive.
Image Processing room's Computers
Which computer fits my needs?
=> Usually the 32bit computers are used for small datasets and working with 2D analysis (mainly with ImageJ and Metamorph).
=> The 64bit machines (with high amought of RAM and multi CPUs) are used for larger dataset in 2D as well as 3D imaging and analysis (Metamorph and Imaris)
How to switch on the PC64-1 (previously called: Big screen PC64) and PC64-2 (previously called: Imaris dual screen PC64)?
=> As they are pretty noisy computers, they are in the small room AI-0141. Enter the room to switch them on or off.
