IMAGE PROCESSING RULES

Please follow these rules to ensure a smooth experience when using our machines.

RULES

  • If you need to do long calculations, try to do it by night or over the week-end. This saves you money and frees the machine
  • At the end of the day, verify if you are the last user of the computer, if yes, switch the computer off for the night
  • Never leave the Wacom graphic tablets on standby when you finish, always switch them off
  • The machines are not intended for storage. If we see a disk is full, we will delete the data. Delete your data on the PC after you've no longer a need for it.
  • If you do not have a data-server at the EPFL ("Parc Scientifique" or outside EPFL), we can provide temporary storage on our server (svfas6.epfl.ch/biop)
The data is automatically deleted after 3 months

External images

The "Image processing and analysis" staff, will help and train any user of the BIOP platfom. We process images from outside the facility, only if they have the quality standards requested at the BIOP.

If you want to acquire images in your lab, you are very welcome to come and see us. We will discuss the quality of your acquisitions and suggest improvements to allow processing.
